MODERN AND CLASSIC LANDSCAPE
On the banks of river Moskva, just outside the Russian capital, lays Villa R.
The villa is positioned in the centre of the property overlooking the river valley, emerging from dense pine forest.
As the volume of the villa is orientated towards the river, it is flanked with vast green lawn opening to the picturesque landscape of the valley.
The ambition was to create an inclusive concept for a modern yet classic, wild yet cultivated landscape of Villa R. We drew our inspiration from the history of classical Russian gardens in order to root the design in tradition. The concept aims to preserve the wild character of the surrounding nature while controlling it and allowing it to blossom at the same time.
GRAND GARDEN
The inclusive garden concept takes the rich mosaic of garden styles and classical elements of the world and composes them into one Grand Garden. Much like the renaissance garden the grand gardens, the goal is to offer the resident an opportunity to ReCreate oneself. Walking, strolling or jogging around the garden the giro offers a kaleidoscope of natural scenes for one to relate to.
Originated in the enlightened renaissance gardens, these grand gardens gives place and time to the stories of the past, present and future. It’s the cultural and spiritual connection through the four elements of the world. These elements support the design in creating contrast in places and thinking.
The concept to divides almost 6,4 hectare garden into 4 different landscapes with distinguished character: Wild Forest,
Blossoming garden, Spacious lawn and Dynamic waterfront. Each zone is rich with features that makes it truly unique, its own colour, light, smell and flavour. Every part has an architectural pavilion, a unique function, a place to stay and appreciate the landscape.
Vegetation and foliage is used to emphasise the character of each zone. By isolating the species the single beauty of each variety will become more present. Due to the sloping terrain of the garden it can be enriched with trees varying from sculptural Pines in the Japanese garden, blossoming Seringa and Apple along the axis lawn, with high soaring Sylvestris Pines in the courtyard and weeping willows on the waterfront.
Bright colours brighten the garden and bring life year round. The most cultivated gardens are directlybconnected to the house in enclosed flower beds in ornamental shapes.
Nothing beats the directness of designing a private family garden. It’s very personal, almost intimate. The relation with the client is crucial. High-end quality gardening comes from the process and the will and capability of nature on the site.
